The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has been conducting common written examination (CWE) for specialist officer post since 2011. That’s why this year we call this exam as IBPS SO CWE SPL-VII (7th) exam.

IBPS SO CWE SPL-VII 2017 exam will ensure selection of candidates for 20 PSBs (Public Sector Banks). IBPS SO CWE SPL-VII Preliminary Exam 2017 will happen on 30th & 31st December 2017 and IBPS SO 2017 Mains Examination will take place on 28th January 2018.

IBPS Specialist Officer or IBPS SO CWE SPL-VII 2017 NOTIFICATION

Tentative dates of IBPS SO 2017 Exam will release in the month of October– November 2017. Every candidate has to register online on the IBPS official website for filling up online application form.

The exam has three phases of the selection process as Prelims or Preliminary, Main & Interview. First two-phase which are Preliminary and Main is a purely online examination. Once a candidate clears the Main exam then only he becomes eligible for attending interview round.

There will be two phase CWE SPL-VII online exam for IBPS Specialist post.  You will only be able to write the Main examination after you clear Preliminary exam.

IBPS Specialist Officer 2017 Exam Pattern

Till 2016, IBPS SO CWE had only one online exam, but from this year, i.e. 2017, candidates appearing in the exam of IBPS Specialist Officer post has to take two tier online examination as the preliminary and main exam.

Main exam questions will come only from Professional knowledge.

You have to obtain a minimum total score in the main exam for getting shortlisted for interview.

Interview

All candidates who have cleared IBPS SO CWE-VII Main Exam will go for face to face interview. The Participating Organisations conduct this interview and also it is coordinated by the Nodal Bank in each State with the help of IBPS.

You will receive all interview details via call letter. All shortlisted candidates will be required to download the interview call letter from IBPS official website.

The total marks in the Interview are 100.

Qualifying marks in the interview – Minimum 40% (For Other Candidates)

Qualifying marks in the interview – Minimum 35% (For SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates)

The ratio of marking of IBPS SO CWE Main exam and interview will be 80:20 respectively.

Note: Main examination marks is valid for shortlisting for the interview and final merit listing. Prelims exam scores will only be considered to qualify for the Main exam. 

Negative Marking for wrong answers (Preliminary and Main examination)

All candidates must note that there will be negative marking or penalty for wrong answers in the Objective Tests. Every wrong answer will deduct 0.25 marks from the total marks.

If a question is left blank without any answer, then there will be no negative marking for that question. Candidate should build a strategy around this as this could be deciding factor of cracking IBPS Specialist exam CWE SPL-VII.

IBPS Specialist Officer 2017 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

Each candidate applying for IBPS SO CWE SPL-VII 2017 should fulfil the IBPS minimum eligibility criteria specified in their advertisement. Nationality, education and age are the primary eligibility requirements.

Nationality

A candidate should be either

  • A Citizen of India or
  • A subject of Nepal or
  • A subject of Bhutan or
  • A refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that the Government of India has issued a certificate of eligibility. Countries which comes in the list are Tibet, Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam.

If you have dual specialisations, then you must have one of the prescribed fields of specialisation. In the case of major or minor specialisations, the major specialisation should be from the stream prescribed.

Candidates who are having PG Diploma with more than two specialisations are not eligible to apply. There is nothing called equivalent educational qualification, and thus every candidate has to fulfil the exact eligibility criteria as prescribed by IBPS or Participating Organisations.

Important note for all IBPS Speciality Officer posts except IT Officer Scale-I: Candidates should either have Diploma/Certificate/ Degree in the computer language or should have studied Information Technology or Computer as one of the subjects in the High School or College or Institute.

The candidate must possess valid Mark-sheet or Degree Certificate before registering online i.e. before the last date of online registration.

Age Criteria

Age criteria for General Category are minimum 20 years, and the maximum is 30 years.

A candidate must have been born not earlier than 02.07.1987 and not later than 01.07.1997 (both dates inclusive)

IBPS SO 2017 ONLINE APPLICATION

All eligible candidate who wants to join as the specialist officer or SO is required to register online for the Common Recruitment Process (IBPS SO CWE SPL-VII).

Candidates can only apply online starting from last week of October to mid of November 2017. There is no other mode of application except online application.

All candidates have to follow below Pre-requisites for Applying Online

  • Scan your photograph and signature ensuring that both the photograph (dimension as 4.5cm × 3.5cm) and signature adhere to the required specifications as given in official Advertisement.
  • Check all the necessary detail and documents. Keep them ready before the payment of online application fees.
  • You got to have a valid personal email ID. This email ID is the only point of contact from IBPS for receiving call letters for the Examination etc. If you do not have any personal email ID, then create one and maintain it up to the end of the selection process.

Procedure of Applying Online

  1. Candidates shall go to the IBPS official website and register their application by entering necessary details.
  2. Candidates shall upload their photograph and signature as per the IBPS official guidelines.
  3. Candidates are advised to carefully fill the details in the online application as no change in data will be entertained at a later stage.

Mode of Payment

  1. You can make the online payment by using all Debit Cards, Credit Cards, Internet Banking, IMPS, Cash Cards, Mobile Wallets.
  2. The successful completion of the transaction will generate an e-receipt.
  3. You are required to take the printout of the e-receipt and the online application form.
  4. The candidate should ensure the particulars filled in are accurate and retain it along with Registration Number and Password for future reference.

Important Note: You should not send application printout to the IBPS or any Banks. Also, do not wait for the last date of filling the online application form as sometimes IBPS official website experience heavy traffic and jam due to the high volume of applicants. 

IBPS Specialist Officer (IBPS SO) 2017 APPLICATION FEE

You have to pay online the Application Fees or the Intimation Charges in between last week of July 2017 and Mid-August 2017 (IBPS SO CWE SPL-VII Notification period).  The total application fee is as follows:

  • 100/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.
  • 600/- for all others

Bank Transaction charges for Online Payment of Application fees will have to be borne by the candidate. 

IBPS Specialist Officer SALARY

IBPS SO salary varies with location, but the overall salary is around Rs. 30,000/- (Approximately). The overall salary has a few components like Basic pay, HRA, DA and CCA. 

IBPS Specialist Officer (SO) ADMIT CARD 2017

Candidates should download the IBPS Specialist Officer 2017 admit card or call letter from the IBPS official website. You will not receive any hard copy of the IBPS SO Admit Card via post.

The admit card will be made available 10 to 15 days before the IBPS SO 2017 Exam. The admit card or call letter for IBPS SO 2017 will be issued in 3 stages:

  • Online Preliminary Examination
  • Online Mains Examination
  • Interview 

IBPS Specialist Officer (SO) RESULTS 2017

IBPS will release the results online after every stage of the exam. All candidates who appeared for IBPS specialist officer exam will get the selection notification on their registered personal email id. Also, the candidate can check the result from the IBPS official website as and when the results are available.
