The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) will conduct the common written examination (CWE) for IBPS RRB Group A – Officers (Scale-I, II & III) and Group B – Office Assistants (Multipurpose) for the 6th time in 2017-18 to hire for various positions in Regional Rural Banks.

IBPS RRB recruitment exam is conducted for two groups:

  1. Group A
    1. Scale-I Officers
    2. Scale-II Officers

    1. Office Assistants (Multipurpose)

1.    Nationality Criteria for IBPS RRB Recruitment Eligibility

To appear for IBPS RRB Preliminary and Main Exam, a candidate should be a:

  • Citizen of India or
  • Subject of Nepal or
  • Subject of Bhutan or
  • Refugee who came to India before 1 Jan 1962 with the intention of settling in India or

Candidate of Indian origin who has migrated from with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that the Government of India has issued a certificate of eligibility. Countries which comes in the list are Tibet, Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, the United Republic of Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, East African countries of Kenya, and Vietnam.

2.    Education Qualification

A candidate must have:

  • Graduation degree in any discipline from a Govt. of India recognised University
  • Equivalent Qualification from central Govt.

IBPS RRB Exam also requires skillsets of:

Computer Literacy

A candidate must know a computer operating system with a degree certificate or diploma in computer operations or Language.

Alternatively, a candidate must have studied Computer or IT in either High School or College (any institute).

Proficiency in Official Language of State/UT

As IBPS RRB Posts are for regional banks, a candidate must possess proficiency in the official regional language of the Union Territory or State.

Proficiency in any language means the candidate should know the Regional Language to:

  • Read
  • Write
  • Speak

However, there is no minimum pass percentage for language proficiency; you must possess marks sheet or degree certificate as proof.

3.    Age Criteria

For Office Assistant (Multipurpose)

Between 18 years and 28 years

For Officer Scale- I

Above 18 years – Below 30 years

For Officer Scale-II

Above 21 years – Below 32 years

For Officer Scale- III

Above 21 years – Below 40 years
